Do not be excessively righteous and do not be overly wise. Why should you ruin yourself? Do not be excessively wicked and do not be a fool. Why should you die before your time? It is good that you grasp one thing and also not let go of the other; for the one who fears God comes forth with both of them.
Let wisdom, which comes from having a worshipful heart for God, be your guide when making decisions in order to protect your christian character and witness.
But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
Psalm 103:17-18 (KJV)
God grants His mercies on those that fear the Lord, those who are faithful and hold fast to His commands. His mercies extend from this life to the next, and to our children and to their children provided they worship the Lord.
Who considers the power of your anger, and your wrath according to the fear of you?
Your power is so great! We cannot even comprehend it! Let our worship be an acceptable offering to You Lord, even though you deserve so much more.
A God greatly feared and revered in the council of the holy (angelic) ones, and to be feared and worshipfully revered above all those who are round about Him?
Even the angels in heaven fear and worship the Lord, they praise His mighty name. Let us be filled with a holy awe and give Him the honor that only He is worthy of.
Those living far away fear your wonders; where morning dawns and evening fades you call forth songs of joy.
Biblical Truth: From the ends of the earth we stand in awe at your wondrous signs and miracles. Day in and day out we worship You! You are the daybreak and the sunset of the day that never ends.
I kept quiet, not saying a word, not even about anything good! But my suffering only grew worse, and I was overcome with anxiety. The more I thought, the more troubled I became;
Biblical Truth: Speculation and worry only serve to feed discontent. Through prayer we seek forgiveness and wisdom to counteract dissatisfaction and discontentment.
Don’t give in to worry or anger; it only leads to trouble. Those who trust in the Lord will possess the land, but the wicked will be driven out.
Biblical Truth: When we give in to anger and worry over the prosperity of those who do evil we open ourselves up to temptation. The actions of the wicked are costly and judgment is certain.
